1st July 2020

I would like to thank everybody for complying with the Club’s Coronavirus restrictions and also working with us and using the booking system, I know that its isn’t what practice shooting is all about and that sometimes you just want to be spontaneous and just go shooting without having to book up!

Well now you can…we have decided that because of the way our sport works and the precautions that we have in place we can go back to pay and play, with no need to pre book. If you have pre booked and paid then rest assured that your credit is good and you wont be asked to pay when you arrive.

So now we are moving into July from the 3rd we will be opening on Friday’s as well as the weekends, there is no need to pre book, you can just turn up as you used to do. We will have the sporting on with 12 stands, plus the skeet and 100 birds of FITASC practice available. In addition we will be providing simple refreshments on the balcony, tea, coffee, bacon rolls for take away.

The shop is open, however please be advised that it is on a one-in, one-out basis, so there may be a queue at times and we thank you for your patience in advance.

We are starting to host competitions in July including the Premier League, the July FITASC and a Sporting/Sportrap at the end of the month. So for more information please take a look at the website.

Lessons will also resume in July but at the moment we will only be able to instruct intermediate and experienced shooters, because of the need for social distancing. Both Simon our head coach and senior instructor Iain are available by appointment for lessons Thursday, Friday, Saturday and some Sundays when we are not holding an event.

It goes without saying that we all need to still be vigilant on the ground so please bear the following in mind while you are at Southdown and we hope that you have a great time. Help us to keep within the rules

·         Please observe social distancing where possible

·         Please do not stay after your shooting has finished

·         If there is a queue on the range, keep back and let others finish their stand

·         Do not gather in groups

·         Wear additional PPE where possible

·         Use the hand sanitisers and or wash your hands regularly

·         Comply with all Covid regulations

·         Do not come to the ground if you feel unwell in any way
