When does it take place?
There will be 12 events during 2026, once a month on the following dates (see table). These events will all take place on a Saturday. You can pre-book if you want to shoot at a specific time or you can just rock up and see what is available. The events will generally take place around the club house on a unique course set specifically for the event.

How does it work?
Normal Sporting rules apply in accordance with the CPSA regulations and we will set up a bespoke Sporting layout for the event around the clubhouse area in the DTL, Skeet, Rough, Pattern Plate and Shop layout areas.
There will be 6 or 7 stands to shoot from and a total of 50 birds. The layout will be set for all abilities with one easier target and one harder target, so that there is a 50% chance on every stand.
How is it fair to all Classes?
Handicap System Update – Effective 1st June 2026
To ensure fairness for all participants, we will be implementing a handicap system, similar to that used in the CPSA Premier League.
Unclassified Shooters:
If you are currently unclassified, you will be classified on the day of your next shoot. This classification will be valid for six months, after which your raw scores will be reviewed and reclassified as appropriate.
Reclassification:
In line with CPSA guidelines, all shooters will be reclassified effective from 1st August 2026.
Handicap Amendments – 2026 Members Competition (from 1st August onwards):
- AA & A Class shooters – Handicap: 0
- B Class shooters – Handicap: +2
- C Class shooters – Handicap: +4
Note: These changes will not affect any scores recorded prior to 1st August 2026.
How does the Championship work?
To qualify for a shot at the Championship you will need to have taken part in at least 6 of the events during the year – you can shoot them all if you want but only your best six scores will count. During the year we will generate a leader board which will be displayed on this page.
Then, in December 2026, after the last event, we will be able to announce the overall Southdown Members Sporting Champion 2026. Who will be the second member to join Barry Page on the leaderboard?
Are there prizes?
There sure are! Each event will have a prize fund which will be funded from the entry fee. This will be distributed to 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th at each event, but don’t get too excited. The fund will be based on entry numbers, so the more people that enter the better it will be.
