Southdown Competition Prize Fund Payout
It is our aim to be transparent and to handle the competition prize fund payout as quickly and as fairly as possible. To that end, we aim to pay prize money on the day, once the competition has ended. Please feel free to wait for the prize giving which is generally 1.5 hours after the competition closes.
Please understand that the prize fund payout is dependent on entries and if competitor numbers are low, we reserve the right to alter the prize fund accordingly, in the event that there are 2 or less competitors in Veterans, Ladies, Juniors and Colts we reserve the right to put the entrant in class and abandon these categories.

Southdown regularly supplements the prize fund payout and distribution is at the discretion of the club.
Competitor contribution to prize fund is usually £5.
If you are a winner, but not local, and cannot wait on the day we will be pleased to post you a cheque or make a BACS payment, please call the office 01903 877555 or email info@southdowngunclub.co.uk to arrange. Please note that the prize money must be collected within 6 months of the competition date.
Tie Breakers
Per CPSA Handbook (rule 1.10), in the event of a tie-break, a shoot-off will decide the individual H/Gun and the winner of all trophies, medals or prizes. In the event 2 or more shooters tied, who are not present for a shoot-off the winner will be decided by count-back. All cash-only prizes will be awarded on an add & divide basis. All article prizes will be awarded based on countback. Rules may differ for Major Championship competitions, please refer to those posted at the ground on day of comp. In the event of a shoot-off in a County, Regional or National Championship shoot, if one or more competitors are not present at the time of being called for the shoot off then they automatically forfeit their chance of winning. Shoot offs take place immediately after the main competition has finished (unless failing light or extreme weather).

At no additional cost to Competitors, Southdown guarantees to accelerate the prize fund.
Our prize payout for entries between 1 and 99 entrants is based on entry, meaning the total prize fund depends entirely on how many shooters take part. For example, if all 99 entrants participate and each pays a £5 draw fee, the total prize fund would be £495. This amount is then divided across 8 classes and 3 prize places, which naturally reduces the individual payout. This approach ensures fairness and transparency, with prize values increasing as the number of entrants grows.
