Description
Bisley alloy snap caps are shotgun accessories used for safely dry-firing and storing firearms. They contain a spring-dampened false primer that protects the gun’s firing pin from damage.
Features and uses
- Dry-firing practice: They allow a user to repeatedly pull the trigger without using live ammunition. This is helpful for practice, testing a gun’s function, or simply releasing spring tension.
- Relieving spring tension: It is often recommended to use snap caps when a shotgun is put into long-term storage. By dry-firing with a snap cap in the chamber, you relieve the pressure on the firing pin springs.
- Protection for firing pins: Repeated dry-firing on an empty chamber can cause damage to the firing pin over time. The alloy snap caps protect this component by providing a cushioned surface for the pin to strike.
